The Codebreaker charts the story of the ground-breaking cryptoanalyst Elizebeth Smith Friedman, whose work in decoding the messages of organised crime in the United States, bringing down Al Capone and breaking up a Nazi spy ring in South America, lays the foundation for the National Security Agency (NSA).
